London-based opera singer Katerina Mina is a Greek-Cypriot-born Spinto Soprano. After her initial studies in Cyprus, Katerina moved to London to study at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, having received full scholarship from the City of London Corporation and the A. G. Leventis Foundation. A prize-winner in two international singing competitions, as well as the recipient of the Russian Federation’s Medal for ‘Peace and Friendship’, Katerina is a very experienced soloist, specialising in the heavier roles of the lirico-spinto soprano repertoire. She has performed with well-known orchestras at internationally renowned venues including: Queen Elizabeth Hall; Shrewsbury Abbey; Buxton Opera House; Auditorio de Tenerife; Hackney Empire; Wakefield Cathedral; Sheldonian Theatre; Bloomsbury Theatre; St James’s Piccadilly; St John’s Smith Square; De Montfort Hall; Konzerthaus Berlin; Gasteig Munich; Lichtwarksaal Hamburg; Steinway-Haus Hamburg and Munich; Les Invalides Paris; ‘Juhlasali’ at Helsinki City Hall; ZIL Culture Centre Moscow; Athens and  Thessaloniki Concert Halls amongst others.

Katerina’s operatic roles include: Kupava Snegurochka; Giorgetta Il Tabarro; Santuzza Cavalleria Rusticana; Donna Elvira Don Giovanni (Staatstheater Cottbus); Elle La Voix Humaine (Grimeborn Opera Festival and Kypria International Music Festival). Other roles while she was a lyric soprano include: Nedda I Pagliacci (Kolobov Novaya Opera of Moscow); Violetta La Traviata & Fiordiligi Cosi Fan Tutte (European Chamber Opera); Vivika Vaftistikos (CSO); Mimi La Bohème (British Youth Opera); Karolka Jenufa (English Touring Opera). Her concert performances include: Verdi’s Requiem and Beethoven’s Choral Symphony no.9 (London Chorus, St. John’s Smith Square); Haydn’s Nelson & Little Organ Masses (Shrewsbury Abbey); Dvořák’s Stabat Mater, Te Deum and Mozart’s Requiem (Bishop’s Castle); Tippett's Negro Spirituals and Fanshawe's African Sanctus (Manama Singers Bahrain); Pitta’s symphonic piece 1973 at Athens Megaron (National Symphony Orchestra and Chorus of ERT); Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Stanley Hall Opera); Haydn's Scena di Berenice (Georgisches Kammerorchester); A. Sakali’s oratorio Liturgy beneath the Acropolis (Oxford Philomusica); Rossini’s Stabat Mater; Theodoraki’s Oratorios and Duparc’s Orchestral Songs  (Cyprus Symphony Orchestra) as well as a series of concerts with the State of Mexico Symphony Orchestra under Enrique Bátiz.

A versatile artist, Katerina appeared as a special guest in Rick Wakeman’s symphonic concert at the Queen Elizabeth Hall with Orion Symphony Orchestra. She was also the main soloist during the closing ceremony of the International Festival of Astronomy STARMUS 2014, performing alongside theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking and cosmonaut Alexey Leonov. Her acclaimed performance of Linda Lamon’s song Rainbow of Light Anthem represented UNESCO’s International Year of Light 2015, was played in over 60 countries worldwide and was released as a Single on the date of the winter solstice that year.

Katerina has just finished recording a new CD Album with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Grzegorz Nowak. The CD with title Angel of Fire will be released in the following months by the RPO’s Record Label and will feature operatic arias by Verdi, Giordano, Beethoven, Wagner, Cilea & Puccini, Andromache’s Farewell by Samuel Barber, as well as two world-première pieces by Swiss composer Stephan Hodel based on Katerina’s poetry.  Katerina’s second Single Freedom for Me by Linda Lamon and UK producer Nigel Stonier was released on 2017 and is available on all online music stores. Katerina’s first CD with pianist Elena Mouzalas (released by Irida Classical Label) features Chopin’s 17 Polish Songs & Schumann’s Frauenliebe und-Leben.

Following an official invitation by UNESCO, in May 2018 Katerina will perform Linda Lamon’s piece Romance for the Stars during the official inauguration ceremony of the International Day of Light at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. Further future engagements include: A ‘Last Night of the Proms’ concert with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Nick Davies; participation as a soloist at the International Composers Festival at De La Warr Pavilion in West Sussex; the soprano solo in Polo Piatti’s Oratorio Libera Nos; a collaboration with composer Ash Madni and film director Greg Anderson for a new CD Album; and the world-première performance of Alessandro Valtulini’s symphonic piece Ave Maria in F Minor at Teatro alla Scala with the Philharmonia Orchestra.
